Purchase Action Points
One of the available actions a player has access to during their turn is the ability to spend credits to purchase action points for sectors adjacent to the sector that is activated.
Action points are only gained by sectors that are owned by the player. Strategy will need to be taken into effect when deciding when and where this action should be used.
The maximum number of points a player may purchase is 4 in a single action. To achieve this, the sector that is activated must be surrounded by owned sectors in all four cardinal directions. Sectors that are positioned in a diangle direction are not considered adjacent when performing this action.
Each other sector will only gain a single action point. So if the activated sector has only two adjacent sectors, then the player will only gain 2 action points, 1 in each adjacent sector.
A sector may have any number of action points, so if a player is able to activate this action multiple times in a single turn it could be possible that a player can activate the same sector 5 times in a single turn by performing this action on the sectors surrounding it. This is highly unlikely, but possible.
The cost in credits for this action is the same no matter the number of action points gained from it. The number of action points that a player may gain is based on the number of adjacent sectors to the activated sector. This can range from zero to four.
